Frequently asked questions

What can a life coach help me with?

Many things! Career, relationships, personal development, money mindset, and more. Right now, I’m focusing my marketing on people feeling confused as they make a life choice, and helping them as they make a decision. I’ve coached on a variety of topics and often people are just exploring something that has been on their mind.

How do I know if I’m a good potential client?

If there is something you’d like to shift in your life, and you are looking for either more clarity about what that is or how to go about it, you could benefit from coaching. If you already know what you want and you are going after it without getting stuck, you probably don’t need coaching right now.

Will you tell me what to do?

No. That is what a consultant or advisor does. In my coaching, I believe that you are in charge in your own life and that my role is to support you and provide space for you to explore the changes you’d like to make.

How are sessions conducted?/I don’t live near you, how can you coach me?

All of my sessions are done over the phone, currently. Our sessions will take place via Zoom. I ask that you find a quiet place for us to talk, free of distractions or interruptions.

How is coaching different from therapy?

This is a very important distinction. I am not a therapist and therapists have a lot more rigorous requirements to be qualified. Therapy is an important tool for anyone experiencing anxiety, depression, phobias, addiction, and post traumatic stress disorder. I don’t work with people experiencing these, unless they are also working with a mental health professional.

What type of topic(s) would we be able to cover?

Pretty much anything in your life. Personal or professional is fine. Some ideas: Something that's on your mind, that is coming up soon, or somewhere you are feeling stuck.

The question I’m likely to ask at the beginning of us working together is: What prompted you to reach out about coaching. From there, we’ll work together to create a focus for the time period we’ll work together. This goal may shift focus as you move forward, and that’s okay—in fact, it’s part of the process. The question I'm likely to ask at the top of each call is: what within your focus would you like to shift or explore during the session?
